14 of the most interesting activities and places to visit in Hurghada and Egypt.

1. El Dahar bazaar

In the Old City of Hurghada you will find the El Dahar Bazaar, an authentic bazaar with a real Egyptian touch. This old area is full of narrow streets, old buildings and colorful shops. The bazaar comes alive every day from around noon to late evening.

Inside the bazaar you will find countless small stalls selling all sorts of traditional Egyptian goods. You can easily buy everything from rugs, clothes and spices to hookahs, brass and more. When visiting the El-Dahar bazaar, you definitely have to negotiate the price. It is not unusual to cut the price down to half the original price. The authentic atmosphere of the bazaar definitely makes it one of the best places in Hurghada.

2. Diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea

One of the top activities in Hurghada is of course diving or snorkeling in the Red Sea. The Red Sea is indeed known as one of the best places in the world for the beauty of the underwater world. It is absolutely amazing to see the beautiful coral reef and thousands of colorful fish under the sea surface.

If you want to indulge in snorkeling in Egypt, I highly recommend a full day snorkeling trip. The trip includes a cruise around the Red Sea with the option of jumping into the sea at several different locations. If you're lucky, you might even spot dolphins frolicking freely in the waves. It includes a longer stop at Giftun Island, as well as a tasty lunch on board the ship. It's a really great and cheap day trip that's incredibly popular.
